Meet The Team - David Willmington
Share Share this page

This week we’d like to introduce you to David Willmington, joint owner of LCM Systems Ltd. Back in 2001, David teamed up with Managing Director, Steve Sargeant, to purchase the company, and has worked with Steve to grow the business from a small enterprise that focused solely on load cells for the UK yachting industry, into the global market leading manufacturer of standard and custom design load cell solutions it is today. David has many years of experience in the load cell industry, having established the world-renowned microelectronics company, Mantracourt Electronics Ltd, in 1972. The company is a supplier of key technology to OEM sensor manufacturers and specialises in strain gauge signal processing, analogue to digital converters and innovative wireless solutions. When the opportunity arose to invest in LCM Systems, the obvious synergy between the two businesses made it an ideal fit, and both companies continue to benefit from a close working relationship. Although David is now enjoying semi-retirement, he still holds the position of Chairman/owner of Mantracourt, as well as retaining joint ownership of LCM Systems.

Meet The Team - Natalie Adcock

Meet Natalie Adcock, our Supply Chain Assistant. Natalie works alongside our Purchasing Manager and is responsible for generating and placing purchase orders with suppliers, and more importantly, for expediting them to ensure all items are delivered on time.  This key business function is paramount in allowing us to ensure our products are manufactured on time and that we are able to meet our customers delivery expectations. As Natalie has extensive experience in administration, store management and logistics (having worked for the armed forces in various positions for over 26 years prior to joining LCM Systems), she has an excellent understanding of stock rotation and how to find the best deal when researching suppliers. These skills, along with an enthusiasm for both maintaining existing relationships with suppliers and forging new ones, helps the company to operate smoothly and reach its ‘on time’ delivery performance goals. If you are looking for a load cell manufacturer that despatches products when they confirmed they would, make sure you contact our sales team at

Meet The Team - Helen Cornish

Helen has been with the company since 2013 and has over twenty-five years’ experience in B2B marketing for manufacturing companies, fifteen of which have been in the load cell industry. She is responsible for managing the sales team to ensure customer relationships are nurtured and business opportunities maximised and for implementing marketing strategies in support of the company’s goals and objectives. One of these objectives is to provide a stress-free purchasing experience to all our customers, and it is this philosophy that drives everything we do.  So, if you have an upcoming load monitoring requirement and want to deal with a company that always puts its customers first, make sure you contact our friendly sales team at

Meet The Team - Ford Wilson

Of fundamental importance to any manufacturing company are their production staff, whose responsibility it is to make consistently reliable and quality products. LCM Systems is fortunate to have a very focused team that always takes pride in their work, like our Load Cell Technician, Ford Wilson. Ford has been strain gauging load cells since he joined the company in 2004, so has extensive experience and expertise in the gauging and wiring of even the most complicated and intricate load cells. Thanks to his and the rest of the teams skill and professionalism, we have complete confidence in quoting for load monitoring projects that many of our competitors are unable to. If you have a project coming up for a custom design load cell for a complex application, make sure that LCM Systems is your first port of call.

Meet The Team - Steve Sargeant

Meet Steve Sargeant, Managing Director and owner of LCM Systems Ltd. Steve has worked in the load cell industry since 1982, starting in production and the manufacture of load cells. During his time in the industry he has worked in many different departments, gaining experience and expertise in “all things load cells”, with calibration, product design/development, application support and sales/business development all roles that he has covered. Steve had the opportunity to acquire LCM Systems in 2001 along with business partner David Willmington, and has developed the business into a professional, high quality design and manufacturing business, recognised as a market leader in both standard and custom load cell solutions, This has been achieved by assembling a strong and dedicated team that is highly focused on customer and market needs, allowing Steve to focus on ensuring the business remains financially secure and in touch with the needs of all business stakeholders.

Meet The Team - Joe Hayward

For a business that prides itself on the quality and reliability of the products it manufactures, it is crucial that quality procedures and standards are always maintained and updated, a responsibility that falls to our Quality Manager, Joe Hayward. Joe regularly liaises with all departments on quality related issues and identifies and actions business improvements through our quality management system. His current principle objective is ensuring we obtain ISO9001 certification, which we are on schedule to achieve by the end of this month. Although we currently already have an independently audited QMS (a prerequisite to allow us to manufacture ATEX/IECEx products), in order to instill complete confidence in our customers, we have decided to take the next step and become ISO9001 certified. As Joe is highly qualified, having a BSI Diploma in Quality Management along with auditing, business development and implementation qualifications, and has successfully taken other manufacturing companies through this process, we are very confident that we’re nearing the end of the project. Watch this space for our official announcement in the next few weeks!

Meet The Team - Jack Davison

Jack Davison is the newest member of the LCM sales team, joining the company a little over eighteen months ago. Having experienced a year on year increase in enquiry levels it became clear that an extra set of hands was needed, and so Jack came on board in the position of Sales & Marketing Assistant. Jack’s main responsibility is responding to enquiries for our standard products, generating quotations and following up with customers in line with the company’s procedures. Jack is always ready and available to offer help and advice to our customers, so if you have an upcoming requirement for a load cell, please contact, who will be more than happy to assist.

50kN Submersible Load Pins

Despatched this week to a customer in Canada were these two X/Y 50kN stainless steel load pins. Designed for subsea use at around a 5 metre depth, they have IP68 sealing and have been pressure tested to 20psi. Fitted with a SubConn micro connector they have also been supplied with a load centralising bobbin and anti-rotation plate.  Both X and Y strain gauge bridges provide a 4-20mA output.

The load pins will be installed in the mooring bridle of a buoy that experiences ice impact while being moored in fast moving water. The load pins are required to measure the bridle/chain orientation and the magnitude of the load caused by the water/ice flow on the buoys.
