300 kN Load Pins for Deep-Water Trenching 📰
29th Oct 2026These 300 kN-rated load pins have recently been delivered to a specialist subsea cable installation company in Greece. Designed for demanding deep-water operations, the load pins are rated for installation at depths of up to 2,000 metres and will be integrated into a deep-water trencher to continuously monitor the tension in the umbilicals connecting the vehicle to its support vessel.
The trencher is designed to excavate trenches in the seabed and install and bury a wide range of flexible products, including pipelines, flowlines, power cables and telecommunications cables.
The integrated load pins provide real-time tension data throughout the operation, allowing the operating system to monitor umbilical loads and identify potentially dangerous snagging events before they could lead to an umbilical disconnect from the support vessel.
