Intrinsically Safe (EX i) Load Shackle Pins 📰
16th May 2025These 310 tonne rated shackle load pins are a repeat order from a company based in Monaco that specialise in the design and manufacture of calm buoys. The load pins have been designed to fit mooring shackles, which will be installed on the topside of a calm buoy in a Zone 2 designated hazardous area. The load pins have been supplied with Ex i (Intrinsically Safe) ATEX/IECEx certification, and as they will also be located in a splash zone, have SubConn connectors and an IP68 rating to ensure they are robust enough for long-term operation in harsh weather conditions. Also supplied were external Ex i amplifiers to provide a 4-20mA output, and final calibration was witnessed by ABS.
